The Social And Dramatic Union

SDU Kills Umang & Usurps K'scope
The Social & Dramatic Union has done Jai Hind College proud as it brings home two coveted WINNERS trophies at the prestigious UMANG 2018 & KALEIDOSCOPE 2018 intercollegiate festivals.

The Umang festival is organized by NM College, Vile Parle and took place on the 13th, 14th, 19th, 20th & 21st of August 2018. The team tirelessly worked night and day for over a month and to our delight emerged victorious amongst numerous colleges from all over the country. Jai Hind took the ambience by storm as the results were declared at the grand finale where JHC bagged almost all of the major awards viz- WINNERS TROPHY, MUSIC AND CONTEMPORARY ARTS, DANCE AND DRAMATICS, GAMING AND SPORTS, LITERARY ARTS, PHOTOMEDIA, BEST CONTINGENT LEADER & BEST CAMPUS AMBASSADOR!!

This wasn't it! Team SDU did it once again! Jai Hind College contingent conquered KALEIDOSCOPE by placing 1st at the Sophia College's renowned festival that took place from the 3rd to the 9th of September, 2018. It was our mission to win after placing a close second in 2017 by a difference of merely 1 point (perfect example of the expression "missed by whiskers!") - the smallest margin in the history of the festival since its inception. A meager 10 day gap from winning Umang was no deterrent in putting together all new performances for K'scope with a renewed zest and zeal, as Jai Hind proves to Mumbai that it is a powerhouse of talent. JHC won all the pre-events of K'scope and bagged the following trophies - WINNERS TROPHY, PERFORMING ARTS, FINE ARTS & INFORMALS.

The contingent of Jai Hind College was represented at both festivals by a team of very talented, motivated and hard working participants & student organizers of Jai Hind College ranging from FYJC to TY degree classes. The Social & Dramatic Union is committed to groom, harness the talents of Jai Hind students and facilitate their participation to keep the Jai Hind name on the podium with its finishes at all competitions.
